Hi! My name is Anna Rothfus and I am a senior at Ithaca College majoring in Theater Arts Management with minors in both French and Business Administration. When I graduate in May, I aspire to a career in Special Events and Development at an arts organization. I would like to work specifically in this area because I enjoy building relationships with people and working in a fast-paced environment. I wish to work in an organization that either does work internationally or brings in international artists and pieces.
I've been involved in the arts since elementary school. Instead of going outside for recess, I spent my time in the art room. In 3rd grade I was introduced to theatre when I helped out painting the sets. In middle school I fell in love with musicals and theatre when I heard "On My Own" from Les Miserables for the first time because that particular show combined my love of French and Theatre. It continues to be my favorite show today. In junior high I tried acting, but after not making it into one of our shows, I gave stage management a try. I fell in love with that since I got to be a huge part of the process without having to act onstage and worked as a stage manager throughout my time in high school. This summer I worked at The Santa Fe Opera and was introduced to a new art form which I grew to appreciate. It was then that I decided I would enjoy a career in any art discipline, not just theatre.
In addition to all the work I do as a Theater Arts Management major, I also work at Ticket Center Ithaca where we ticket events to multiple theatres and other organizations in the area. I'm really busy, but I love what I'm doing! I've also been lucky enough to have some incredible internship experiences.
Feel free to explore this site and take a look at my work.
