Doing some stand up comedy in the IC pub

I am in my sophomore year at Ithaca College’s Park School of Communications and am planning to pursue a career in video production. With a concentration in television/radio, coursework in pre- and postproduction, as well as jobs on three of the college’s television programs, I have hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and an intense interest in production and the related technology that I think will be of value to an organization or crew working on pre- or production in video, broadcasting, or a film-related entity. In addition, I am proficient with Finalcut Pro and ProTools and am comfortable working under pressure and on tight deadlines. I also have experience with Word and Excel.

I am interested in visual storytelling and have been for a number of years. Ithaca College’s Park School of Communications was my first choice because of its reputation for its excellent TV/R program. Before coming to IC, I experimented with hobby short films and stop animation. I worked for 4 years at my high school radio station (there was no TV offering) and took numerous broadcast writing classes.

In my first  year at IC-TV, I was an editor of The Screening Room (fall ’11), a writer for Leave the Light on with Dave, and audio/camera operator/editor of Stop Me If You Heard This One (both spring ’12).  In the summer of 2012, I worked as a freelance editor making promos for a local producer's web series.  I’m interested in all aspects of video/filmmaking—be it short films, feature films, webisodes, television programming, or commercials—and am planning to pursue a career as an editor.
