I am a sophomore Theatre Arts Management and Business Administration with a concentration in marketing double major at Ithaca College. When I entered Ithaca College in the fall of 2011, I had intentions of being only a Business Administration major and a theatre minor, and that plan quickly changed. After interviewing and being accepted into the Theatre Arts Management program, I have gained an incredible amount of hands on experience in sales, ticketing, marketing, and so much more. In the School of Business, I have gained just as much experience through the organizations I am a member of such as American Marketing Association, Deans' Hosts, and the Ithaca College School of Business Peer Advisors where I hold the position of Vice President of Marketing and Membership. I have gained a great deal of management experience through these organizations that will be invaluable to my future.
Before deciding upon attending Ithaca College, I always knew that I wanted to somehow end up working in a field that involved the arts, but I was not exactly sure what it was that I wanted to do. Throughout my time at Ithaca College, I have gained an amazing amount of experience both in and out of the classroom, in addition to being afforded amazing opportunities that have allowed me to develop as both a student and a young professional.
To prepare myself for life after I graduate, I plan on interning in as many fields of interest as possible so that I am able to gain experience in all of my areas of interest. After I complete my undergraduate degrees, I plan to work in commercial theatre in either marketing or general management.
