I am a Television-Radio major, and a first year as a student in Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications.  Although I’ve only been at Ithaca College for a short period of time, I’ve gotten heavily involved with campus life. I’m involved in the radio station, WICB, the television station, ICTV, the fashion club, HiFashion Studios, and the Ithaca College Environmental Society. Throughout my next four years at Ithaca College, I expect to learn much from my experiences here, all while gaining knowledge about the media landscape.

I am an aspiring director, with a passion for both film and music. I would love to make a career that integrates these two aspects of media. I’m incredibly excited by new media and new technology. I strive to be on the cutting edge of all aspects of media technology. Old or new, media is ever evolving and I understand that incorporating the various aspects of the media is where the future of media industry is headed. I believe that all media is interconnected not only to each other, but to the world at large. My goal in life is to find a way to use media, as well as my passions, to make a difference in our world. Globalization, created largely in part to new media, has allowed us each to impact our world in a much more significant way than ever before. What I’ve learned through the sPark class however, is that it is important to keep the ethical, social, and cultural implication of media in mind when creating and using it.

My goal throughout my next four years of college will be to intimately understand as many of aspects of media as possible and how each form of media can be used and incorporated with each other. By understanding both the conception and integration of media, I will be able to see the future of the media industry. In keeping with the idea of the future, I look ahead excitedly to all of the things I will learn, accomplish, experience and create here at Ithaca College.
