Hello, welcome to my portfolio! My name is Carly Hohorst and I am a current student at Ithaca College. I am a member of the class of 2016 and I am majoring in Health Sciences with a pre-med emphasis. I am from Easton, Connecticut and I graduated from Joel Barlow High School in 2012. I am a kind, caring, well rounded individual who is always willing to do anything to lend a helping hand. Having grown up in a single parent household since I was 9 months, I know the importance of being self sufficient. I firmly believe that a good education is the key to be able to support yourself in the long run. This is why I take my studies extremely seriously and always put my best foot forward. Even though school is a very high priority, I also believe that it is important to be a well rounded individual. I have many different interests that extend far beyond my major. Some of my hobbies include horseback riding, standup paddle boarding, and running. I love to be outdoors as much as possible. I live a very active lifestyle and I know the importance of taking good care of your body. That is why my ultimate goal is to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Helping people is a huge passion of mine. I love participating in all types of community service events. I have been an extremely active community member all throughout my middle and high school careers. I was an active Girl Scout from kindergarden up until ninth grade, and I have also served as a member of the National Charity League since seventh grade. Both of these organizations have provided me with ever lasting experiences that have helped shape me to the person I am today. Here at Ithaca College I am continuing on my community service mission. One of my biggest involvements is Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is my most favorite club on campus. Almost every Saturday I participate on a build site in Groton, New York. I has been an amazing opportunity to see something grow from a wasted plot of land to a loving home that will provide long lasting memories.
I welcome you to explore my portfolio and see first hand how much I have grown and prospered over my four years here at Ithaca College. My current goal for the 2012-2013 school year is to stay open to all opportunities that come my way and to continue to excel in my academic studies.
