Hello Leaders of Industry, my name is Daniel Caplan, and welcome to my ePortfolio! I am aspiring director of photography, cinematographer, grip, editor and actor in my junior year of post-secondary education. In the spring of 2012, I graduated from Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Connecticut with an Associate's Degree in Broadcast Cinema. During my tenure at Middlesex, I took a variety of classes that afforded me the opportunity to explore a number communications fields, and to hone my craft as a cinematographer, editor and actor. In the winter of my second year, during my final semester of community college, I wrote, directed, edited and starred in a short form music video project as my thesis for an Advanced Media Production Class. For this production I received an 'A' and also had the distinction of being included in Middlesex's 2012 Arts & Media Festival.

In the fall of 2012 I began my junior year at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York as Cinema Production major. I intend to graduate from Ithaca in the spring of 2014 with my Bachelor of Sciences degree in Cinema Production. Following graduation, intend to utilize the resources offered to me by the college to attend a semester long internship program in Los Angeles. During my time in California, I intend to gain as much experience in the field, and in the editing suite as I possibly can, forming lasting bonds with my peers and contemporaries, learning and growing together into successful, insightful industry professionals.
