Daniel Pessalano (b.1990) is a Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Music in Percussion Performance and Music Education at the Ithaca College School of Music, graduating in 2012. He studies under the tutelage of world-renowned percussionist Gordon Stout and Conrad Alexander, both graduates of the Eastman School of Music.
Daniel hails from the small New York town of Medford on Long Island. He had an affinity for music from an early age and knew he wanted to become a percussionist from the age of 5. Since that time he has played in numerous side bands, including a wedding band and a once popular local metal band. Currently, he is a member of an independent rock band at Ithaca College and also plays in an assortment of groups on Long Island.
This year while pursuing his degree, Daniel is a member of the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra and the Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra, in which he is the principle percussionist. During his Sophomore and Junior year Daniel was a part of the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. Previously, he has been a member of the Ithaca College Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Brass Choir, the 2007 New York State All-State Symphonic Band, the 2007 Suffolk All County Symphonic Band, and the 2007 American Music Abroad European Tour band, in which he was the principle percussionist.
