My name is Jenna Bouffard. I recently graduated Cum Laude from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications. I received my Bachelor of Science in Communication Management and Design with a minor in Integrated Marketing Communications. My junior year, I attended classes at Ithaca College’s program in London, England, where I interned at RedHot PR. I was awarded the Flora Brown Scholarship for Ithaca College, was the marketing director for the college’s 360 Magazine my sophomore year, and a member of the Cheerleading team. In addition, my team was the winner of the Systems Thinking and Design Competition for the spring semester of 2010 for my project on New York State Parks. My curriculum included courses in Public Relations, Marketing, Management, Event Planning, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, iMovie, Flash, Xhtml and InDesign to name a few.
Over the past two years, I held a part-time position as a media support specialist with the college’s Information Technology Services. Here, I assist faculty and staff with media projects, performing duties such as printing, shop maintenance, graphic design, slide and image scanning, photography and VHS to DVD conversion, as well as video and photograph editing.
During my semester abroad in London, England, I interned at RedHot PR, a public relations agency that specializes in brand and profile building. Here, I drafted and sent daily press releases to various media outlets. Besides maintaining all social media for each of the 12 clients, I would research and manage client inventory featured in outside publications and update the database for everything from blogs to magazine publications. I learned a lot about fashion, keeping relationships with clients, working in a fast yet efficient manner and how to manage social media in a professional way.
During the summer of my sophomore year, I had a paid internship as a sales representative for University Directories, the leading campus marketing company in the U.S. I sold print, online and mobile advertising accounts to local businesses in the Smithfield, R.I. area for the Bryant University student planner. By the end of 12 weeks, I had sold $18,500, ranking 7 of 31 in the Northeast Region. This experience helped me develop skills on managing a territory, prospecting, building rapport and closing the sale.
