Bachelor in Athletic Training

My academic career at Ithaca College in the Athletic Training Program is a very intensive, exhilarating, challenging, and rewarding experience. From day one I was immersed in an atmosphere that allowed me to grow tremendously - both intellectually and personally. I have a passion for learning and always keep an open mind in order to learn new concepts and ideas. My professors guide me by providing the necessary information and skills, as well as challenge my limits in order to prepare me for the professional workforce. The classes I took included a wide variety of structure, such as lecture based, discussion oriented, and problem-based learning. With all of these types of courses I have grown into a knowledgeable and confident student who is excited to step out into the real world and not only practice what I have been taught, but also continue to learn and develop as a professional.

Below is a list of sample courses that are incorporated in the Athletic Training Curriculum:

  • Anatomy and Physiology I & II
  • Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries
  • Kinesiology
  • Athletic Injury Assessment
  • Human Nutrition
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Neuromuscular Control
  • Therapeutic Modalities
