Jenna Kabat

Welcome to my ePortfolio!

My name is Jenna Kabat and I am from Sudbury, Massachusetts. I am a student at Ithaca College majoring in Communication Management and Design. I expect to be graduating in May 2015.

In my next four years at Ithaca College, I am hoping to explore all of the areas within the communications field. Currently, I am very interested in Marketing and Advertising. I love making presentations and working with Dreamweaver and Photoshop; anything that allows me to express my creativity! I also have a huge interest in fashion and my dream is to combine both of my passions. My goal is to become part of the marketing or advertising part of the fashion industry. I know it will take a lot of work, but I am hard worker, a quick learner, a leader and I put 110% into whatever I do.

In my next four years at Ithaca I am hoping to study abroad and/or studying at one of our campuses in New York, LA, or Washington DC. I am also hoping to get the chance to intern at a marketing or advertising company so I can determine what I am really passionate for.

Through the Spark: Igniting Your Future in Communications class I have learned that to become successful in the communications field I need to have a broad skill set so I will be able to adapt to any situation. I have learned that technology is always changing so staying updated on the new technologies is critical, especially in the communications industry! The industry is shifting and transitioning to become all technical which is another reason why knowing all of the knew technologies is important. I have also learned that social media is becoming one of the best ways to attract your target audiences whether it is through Facebook, Twitter etc. Social media creates huge opportunities for companies to get their ideas out without the huge costs. Through the Spark class I have learned that immersing yourself into different cultures allows you to understand the different cultures of the world and how to communicate to them in efficient ways. The culture in the United States is shifting drastically and knowing about all of the different demographics will allow you to be one step ahead in the communications industry.

Thank you for looking at my ePortfolio!
