Welcome to the eportfolio of Jeremy Walck. As an Ithaca graduate, I have spent my collegiate career completing courses in the English Education Major. Examples of my work are available on this site for you to view so that you may learn more about my achievements and me as I pursue a career in English education.
My goal, as I currently work at a metal cutting and machine shop and coach varsity football at my high school alma mater, is to spend time teaching ESL overseas and English at the secondary level in the states.
I hail from Quakertown, Pennsylvania which is forty miles north of Philadelphia. In 2004 I graduated from Quakertown Community Senior High School and would attribute my four years there, and the relationships that I forged with my teachers, as fuel for my decision towards becoming a teacher. In 2009 I completed my undergrad as an English Education major and received the degree, bachelor of arts from Ithaca College.
As a student at Ithaca College I participated on the football team for four years as well as the track and field team for two. I was involved in several faith based organizations at Ithaca College, and at Cornell University I served on the leadership team for the Ithaca College—Cornell University Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as Ithaca’s president. My senior year I qualified for the national English honor society, Sigma Tau Delta and made the Deans list during my professional semister as a student teacher.
In high school I played football and wrestled for four years and served as team captain my senior football season. I participated in track my junior and senior years and was also involved in Technology Student Association for four years. I began, and presided over, a Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter my senior year, was in the National Honor Society for three years, and was very involved with my church’s youth group as both a student and a Jr. High leader.
