Standing in Newswatch 16 studio

Welcome to my page!

I'm an enthusiastic journalism student with a minor in health and speech communication. If you are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, is detail oriented, has the drive of a racehorse, but also knows how to be down to earth, you've come to the right page.

My experience so far at Ithaca has been vast and various. I'm involved with many media platforms (college news station, radio station, and newspaper.) While covering the 2010 Fall elections, I learned how to work efficiently under high-pressure situations. During the elections I gave live (to tape) reports of the democratic party in Ithaca for ICTV Newswatch 16. Reporting for the college has made me an interactive figure in the community and I love learning new things everyday.

In addition to my campus activities, I partake in classes that ignite my understanding of our diverse world. Last semester I took a course examining how different cultures view and practice wellness. This not only expanded my knowledge of eastern medicine, but also made me realize one's thoughts, decision, motives, etc., are driven by their background and experience. It reminded why  researching and understanding the topic of a news story can be so vital when reporting.

Please feel free to check out some of my work (click on Journalism section) and background. My set graduation date is May 2013, at which I will receive a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism.
