I am a freshman Television-Radio major at Ithaca College in the Class of 2015. I am also a Park Scholar Award recipient; a full scholarship program to the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. I’m originally from Long Island, New York and a graduate of Hauppauge High School where I received the Long Island Art Alliance/ Newsday "Long Island Scholar-Artisit Award" for my work in Media Arts, including broadcast journalism and short films.
In High School I served as an anchor, reporter, editor, camera operator, TD, AD, and floor director for my high school’s MSG Varsity and cablevision-aired television show “Eaglewatch.” On top of working on news shows I was also able to create short-films and work in cinema arts. I have also shown films at the Long Island Film Festival. Thus far at Ithaca College I have already begun to take advantage of the abundance of opportunities presented. I am currently an on-air host of “The Screening Room;” a weekly movie review talk show on ICTV. I have already gained In-Studio experience by taking an assortment of Television-Radio and Cinema courses my first semester.
In the ever growing world of communications it important to understand the fundamentals while at the same time being able to adapt to new and developing technologies. Through the Park School I have been given amazing opportunities to speak to professionals working in the field of communications and have gained hands on experience. I am eager to apply the skills I have learned in the "real world" of television, film, and radio.
