Through the Physical Therapy Program, we are offered a few different ways to help us develop our clinical skills. The classes I have been involved in are Clinical Grand Rounds and Aquatic Therapy. Both have helped me get involved in the practice of Physical Therapy. We are put into an actual Physical Therapy setting in these courses and in both are expected to be able to use our skills we've learned in previous classes to help the patients. For Clinical Grand Rounds, I worked in the clinic doing evaluations, exercise prescriptions and doing the programs with patients. In the Aquatic Therapy class, I have learned to instruct patients on how to do several different exercises in the pool and also come up with some on my own. I have also had two, eight week clinical affiliations that have given me real life clinical experience under supervision.
