"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." -Lao Tzu

Hello! My name is Michael Levien. I am currently a freshman at Ithaca College majoring in Television-Radio with a concentration in Media Production. I come from the friendly town of Newtown, Pennsylvania and am quite the movie enthusiast.

It was not until my sophomore year of high school that I had any idea what I wanted to do with my life. That year was the year I took my first film-based class and absolutely loved it. I started finding myself really thinking about what it takes to reach the final, polished product that movies (or any video for that matter) become after the editing process. It was then that I realized what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to be a video editor.

Since my sophomore year, I have filmed and edited many videos for my high school. My work has consisted of promotional videos, short films, and a video yearbook. My promotional videos have been used to advertise upcoming school events such as fundraisers and sports competitions. My short films have consistently placed in my high school’s film festival—second in 2011 and first in 2012. I was also one of the students put in charge of putting together a video yearbook for my graduating senior class consisting of highlight reels of every school event and sports team from the entire year.
