Marley Owen

Hello, and welcome to my E-portfolio!

My name is Marley Owen and I am a freshman Physical Therapy Major, Undeclared Deaf Studies Minor from North Kingstown, Rhode Island. I graduated from North Kingstown High School in 2011 before becoming a member of the 2015 Physical Therapy Class at Ithaca College.

If nothing else in my life, I have always known that I wanted to help people, so the obvious reasoning behind choosing Physical Therapy would be an outlet to help people improve their quality of life, but it is just not that simple.  I have always know I wanted to be in the health field.  With both my mom and my aunt being nurses, it was just something i was always around.  However, I could never imagine being a surgeon as some of the requirements for their line of work do not suit me.  Once I started bringing my injured sister to Physical Therapy every week, I saw what a difference the therapists made and what a connection she had with them as their patient and therefore started looking into it as a career.  I soon discovered that this could be a perfect outlet for me to work with kids, especially kids with developmental delays or conditions such as downs or autism, and I was immediately sold on the career and began interning in my home town.

You can easily learn more about me, my reasoning for Physical Therapy, as well as my many attributes which are sure to serve me well in my future career by clicking on the sections on the left of the page. So, please feel free to look around as my e-portfolio expands throughout my time here, and thanks for stopping by!
