Hello there and welcome to my eportfolio! My major is Journalism and I’m not sure yet what my minor will be; there are just so many options! However, if everything goes according to plan, I will graduate in the spring of 2016.
Excelling in running, school and having many different experiences in a plethora of diverse aspects has helped me decide the biggest decision of my life so far, what I wanted to do in college. Now arriving at college, my next step is to figure out what I want to be in the future. Having taken the classes I have already, I’ve decided that I want to become a journalist in the future. I would like to travel around the world and interview various people; learning about their individual stories along the way. My ultimate dream is to go to the Olympics to interview all of the athletes for different events and to see them compete. Taking all of the right classes along with taking the correct internships will hopefully get me there and will help me live my dream.
Learning a plethora of skills can help me live that dream. With it, I will gain knowledge outside of things that I normally no have thought of, and will hopefully give me a wider perception and understanding of things. Learning all of the journalism rules is definitely a priority on my list. Learning to fact check all of your sources, and knowing exactly what to say in a lead are only two of the many things journalists learn. Learning each of these things will help me become a better journalist, and therefore ultimately help me become a better person. Taking classes outside of journalism is also important. It can help me connect to people I may interview in the future and can educate me about different places around the world.
