Welcome to my ePortfolio. My name is Wyatt Eldridge and I am currently a transfer Junior attending Ithaca College’s Park School of Communications. My major is in Cinema & Photography with a concentration in Cinema Production; along with that I plan to earn a minor in Philosophy.
Before arriving to Ithaca this fall, I previously attended Corning Community College where I studied for two semesters, ultimately earning my Associates in Science in Humanities/Social Sciences with a concentration in Communications/Humanities. It was during my time at CCC that I decided to pursue the field of filmmaking, and have since fallen in love with all things cinema.
In the short time that I’ve been here, I have been able to learn and engage in far more than I would have initially thought possible. I have begun to learn the fundamentals of working with 16mm film stock, and what it entails to ensure proper loading of a Bolex Reflex film camera, effective film exposure, and the basics to lighting setups and their importance. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to learn on actually film stock and the principles behind how it functions; this will always serve as a sound foundation to base off what I learn next in regards to filmmaking.
Though I am operating under a limited experience, I am very eager and excited to learn as much as I can about the process of filmmaking, and all of the creative energy it requires. Eventually, I would aspire to direct projects, but in the same breath I have become highly intrigued and taken with cinematography as well as the grip and electric department. I love to learn about the different positions there are on a film project, and what each of them contribute to the final cut. Ideally with the knowledge I acquire here at Ithaca, I aim to pursue a rewarding career of working on set and continue to develop and sharpen the skills it requires to do so.
